Our mission is to help parents keep their children healthy and safe by doing what parents do best–talking with their kids. "Can We Talk?" parent-child communication workshops help parents talk with their children about all the "tough issues."
Today's information-age kids are facing huge challenges and temptations. As adults, we understand that
children are bombarded with thousands of TV and Internet messages about sex, drugs, and
violence. We also know that parents are the best educators when it comes to their
own children, and they need support discussing difficult topics like puberty, relationships, sexuality, alcohol, drugs, conflict, and the law.
The "Can We Talk?" workshops are
a resource for families—supporting New Mexico’s parents, caregivers, community educators,
and young people, giving them the tools to talk about health, safety, and justice. "Can
We Talk?" provides parents and other caring adults with workshops, support, and resources,
giving them the information and strategies needed to best protect and guide their children. "Can We Talk?" also helps parents by sponsoring workshops for their children, that provide
young people with the resources and skills they need to stay healthy, safe and successful.
We hope you enjoy the new "Can We Talk?" e-course for parents and children --where starting those important talks is easy and fun.
